Creative Writing Competition - Junior Writers Club

Because Writing is Exciting!

Write a 4 to 12 line poem that has a positive and/or encouraging message of some kind.

1st Prize $150, 2nd Prize $100, 3rd Prize $50
Prizes given as cash or a voucher.

Please read carefully before entering.

You must have permission from your parents and/or legal guardians to enter the competition.
To enter you must be between 8 years old and 12 years old at the closing date of the competition.
Entry to the competition is open to Australian residents only.
Writers may only submit one entry each.
Your poem must be between 4 and 12 lines. Poems that are shorter or longer will not qualify.
Only one author per poem. (You have to write the poem by yourself.)
All entries must be previously unpublished original works and must not have won prizes, contracts or cash in any other competition.
Entries will only be accepted with a correctly completed entry form including contact details for the parent/guardian of the child entering.
Entries must be submitted using the online entry form.
Entries sent in by schools must contain contact details of the parent/guardian or they will not be accepted.
The author’s name must not appear on the poem.
The entries will be judged anonymously.
Copyright will remain the property of the author.
Entries that fail to comply with all entry rules and requirements will be disqualified.
The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners will be contacted through the email address or phone number provided.
We will not share your email, phone number, address or personal details with others.
